High School Participation
Since 1975, the Hamilton & District Badminton Association has enhanced the badminton experience to the students in our area. Our four level draw gives the students the opportunity to initially play against some higher skilled players – yet by the third match – they end up in a division that best reflects their skill level.
Our High School ‘Participation’ Trophy is our way of saying ‘thanks’ to a school that accumulates the most points in our tournament. The scoring table (see bottom of page) awards points based on participation and how well in student performs in their first three matches only. This system is fair because each high school competitor is ‘judged’ on the same number of matches as every other high school competitor – but also gives additional points for the student’s performance in those first three matches.
All high school students in the Hamilton & District Badminton Association area are eligible. There is no limit to the number of entries from each school. Points are allocated on the basis of entering and the wins and losses recorded for the guaranteed three rounds of play.
