2010 H&D Championships
Although the tournament players are battling for bragging rights to have their names on our historic trophies (since 1930) – the majority of the participants are non-tournament players.
Our event is organized to ensure that the non-tournament people get in a division that best reflects their skill level. That takes a lot of extra work on the part of the organizing Committee, but the large number of participants we enjoy certainly tells us that the our efforts are appreciated.
For the local high schools, it is a great badminton experience. The students get the opportunity to see and play against some experienced players. By their third match, they are pitted against other students that they will be competitive with.
For the Coaches, as well as the students, the H&DBC has acquired a seasoned umpire official: Bill Mason with his many years experience at the provincial level. With his expertise, he can certainly assist anyone having questions.
H&DBA recommend that you enter the Championships sooner than later for two reasons. In the past, we have had to limit the number of entries accepted due to the large of number of people applying. As well, we have a fee discount for early entries.
Whether you enter our Championships on-line, full payment must also be sent before you are accepted into the tournament. See the application form for further instructions.
The number of entries will have a bearing – so H&DBA ask that you refer to our website closely as the tournament draws near for any changes to those plans.
If you provide us, when you enter, with your email address – we will be able to email you directly if our plans have changed.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jordan Hearn.
